Hope Baldauff Harman, LLC celebrated its sixth anniversary on April 15, 2011. Since its inception in April 2005, the firm has grown from one patent professional to nine.
During the last six years, the firm has been busy preparing and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications for a wide range of technologies, including computer hardware and software, telecommunications, and mechanical devices. The firm looks forward to many more years of dedicated service to its clients.

HBH Named a Top Patent Firm in 2011 Survey

Hope Baldauff Hartman, LLC was named a top patent firm in the 2011 Top Patent Firms Survey published by Intellectual Property Today magazine in a list that includes 326 firms and individuals. HBH issued 90 patents in 2010, representing a 45.6% increase over the number of patents issued by the firm in 2009.

HBH Welcomes Paul Knowlton as Of Counsel

HBH is proud to announce that Paul E. Knowlton has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Paul has twelve years of experience as a lawyer, serving primarily Fortune 250 corporations in a broad range of intellectual property matters, including portfolio development and management, enforcement of patent and trademark rights, opinions of counsel, defense of demands to license, patent and trademark preparation and prosecution, negotiating and drafting of license agreements, and litigation.
Paul’s practice focuses are intellectual property and alternative dispute resolution. His patent practice areas include the mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications arts, and his intellectual property litigation experience includes patent, trademark, and trade dress matters. Paul’s mediation practice includes all manner of commercial disputes, with his industry experience making him well suited as for intellectual property and construction-related disputes.
Paul is an adjunct professor at Southern Polytechnic State University, Marietta, Georgia, where he has taught intellectual property law since 2003.
Paul received his law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law, a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Temple University, and an Associate of Architectural Engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University.
Prior to attending law school, Paul worked as a construction superintendent, project manager, and forensic engineer. He has supervised new construction up to $10 Million, and investigated and negotiated hundreds of construction-related claims with values up to $2 Million. Prior to joining Hope Baldauff Hartman, LLC, Paul was a co-founder and the managing partner of the intellectual property firm Parks Knowlton, LLC (now Parks IP Law, LLC).
Paul is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, is a licensed attorney in the State of Georgia, and is admitted to the District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Since 2007 Paul has been a registered commercial mediator and arbitrator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, and is a court approved mediator with the Fulton County Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Paul is rated a Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished™ attorney, and a Georgia Trend Legal Elite.

HBH is pleased to announce that Jonathan Paulis has joined the firm as a patent agent. Jonathan has extensive patent application preparation and prosecution experience, primarily in the computer and electrical arts with an emphasis in wireless telecommunications.
Prior to joining Hope Baldauff Hartman, LLC, Jonathan worked as a Patent Agent at an IP boutique firm in the Atlanta area. Jonathan has also worked as a Systems Engineer troubleshooting and maintaining enterprise-class computing platforms.
Jonathan received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Jonathan is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Hope Baldauff Hartman attorney Steven Wong obtained a favorable result for HBH client Rockdale Medical Center under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) today. In an opinion issued January 5, 2009, Rockdale Medical Center was awarded ownership of the www.rockdalehospital.com domain name.
